OCI has a strong focus on Design & Engineering function as this forms the basis for new product developments, re-engineering, technical specifications & documentations. Keeping this in mind, a richly experienced, strong technical team works for the D & E department. This team has the support of exclusive test labs & prototype development facility.

D & E department generates new ideas for product development & maintains a database of different products entering the market with evaluation to see which product can be added to its basket of products. It also undertakes product design, engineering design, prototype development, design of packaging, literature, manuals, brochures etc., required for any product development activity.

Department of Engineering design has the core function of providing all the required technical inputs on various products/services of the company to facilitate the manufacturing process. The engineering department gets the initiative from the product development department by the way of new product prototypes. This apart the engineering department will be involved in modifications to existing products / services, re-engineering etc. The department functions as a custodian of all the technical /engineering details of various products/ services of the company.
